Full Time Grocery Clerk
The Market is looking for a full time staff member to assist in the daily operations of the Grocery Department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Report to and be guided by the Grocery Manager in training, inventory control, buying and merchandising plans including the store’s profitability
Demonstrate creativity in promoting sales, merchandising and/or marketing
Provide excellent customer service
Control spoilage, sampling and food rotation
Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising and inventory controls in department
Have strong demonstrated product knowledge of grocery product
Have ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Perform additional tasks as required by Management
Physical requirement of the position:
Stand for extended periods of time
Work in temperature controlled environment
Bend and lift up to 50 pounds; push or pull carts up to 150 pounds
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching above shoulders
Ability to handle sharp implements (box cutters)
Able to effectively communicate verbally and written
Minimum of 2 years grocery store experience preferred.
